Methi Palak Dal

Ingredients

1/2 cup toordal
1 cup methi leaves
1 cup palak
6 green chillis (chopped)
1 tomato (chopped)
1/2 onion (chopped)
4 garlic cloves (chopped)
1 stalk cilantro
3 to 4 tbs oil
salt
1 tsp cumin and musturd seeds
2 dry red chillis
1/2 tsp turmuric



Method


Wash toor dal ,preasure cook untillll soft , mash cooked dal and Keep aside

Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds,musturd seeds,dry redchillis when cumin seeds spluter add chopped garlic and fry for 1 min then add chopped onions , green chillis ,turmuric sautee for 2 min then add tomatoes ,methi leaves , palak leaves cook until both greens become soft then add cooked and mashed dal ,salt ,cilantro and water until u get required consistancy cover and cook on medium plame for 10 min

Done saeve hot with rice and pickle

    This is a gorgeous homey dish, our favorite. I usually skip the methi leaves, because it is impossible to get them here, so I just double-up the spinach amount... not hte same taste, I know :-(
