Ingredients:
1/4 cup toor dal
1/4 cup chana dal
1/2 cup chopped mixed vegetables(eggplant , beans , green peas)
1/2 onion ( chopped)
1 small tomato (chopped)
1/2 tsp turmuric
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tbs tamarind paste
salt
for tadka:
3 tbs oil
3 garlic cloves ( chopped)
1 tsp cumin & musturd seeds
2 dry red chillis
1/2 spring curry leaves
Method: cook both dals with 1 cup of water in a pressure cooker until soft, mash and keep aside.
In a sauce pan add vegetables,tamarind paste,chopped onions , tomatos and 1 cups water cook until vegetables are cooked completely.
Now add mashed dhal ,salt,turmuric,chilli powder,coriander powder and salt to cooked vegetables if required add water ( until u get thick sambar consistancy) simmer for 10 min
FOR TEMPERING
Heat oil in a pan add cumin and musturd seeds,red chillis, garlic and curry leaves add tadka to
dal and vegetable mixture
SERVE HOT WITH RICE and papad
