Ingredients
2 tomatoes ( chopped)
3 garlic cloves ( chopped)
1 inch ginger root ( chopped)
cilantro and curry leaves
1/2 tsp turmuric
1 tsp rasam powder
6 to 7 green chillis ( chopped)
salt
2 tbs oil
1 tsp cumin and musturd seeds
2 dry redchillis
1 tsp sugar
Method
Heat oil in a saucepan add cumin seeds,musturd seeds,dry redchillis,green chillis,garlic,ginger and curry leaves sautee untill garlic turns light brown
then add turmuric to pan mix and add chopped tomatoes ,cilantro and salt
cover and cook tomatoes until mushy then add 3 cups of water,rasam powder,sugar bring to boil .
done serve hot with rice
It is cold and raining here a slurp of that wonderful rasam would do a world of good. I don't normally add ginger to rasam, I will surely give this a try.

ReplyDeleteI love Rasam but dont make it and prefer to have it in Sagar which is a nice place to have southindian in Delhi.. Always had tomato rasam only ...will try out ginger rasam now!!
ReplyDeleteLove rasam of any kind. Loved it more for its no dal and no tamarind recipe. I rechecked if I had missed reading tamarind in the ingredients. Will surely try this.
