Avakaya Pappu


INGREDIENTS

1 cup toor dal
2 tbs avakaya ( mango pickle)
pinch of turmuric
cilantro
salt

FOR TADKA

2 tbs oil
1 tsp cumin seeds and musturd seeds
3 tbs chopped onion
3 garlic cloves chopped
curry leaves


METHOD

Wash toor dal and preassure cook along with a pinch of turmuric until
soft
.
Once dal is cooked completely add avakaya and mash with back of spoon
or with dal masher
.
Heat oil in a pan for tadka , add cumin seeds ,musturd seeds , curry leaves ,garlic
and onion ,sautee until onion is light brown , pour this tadka over mashed dal
.
Adjust salt
.
Done serve hot with hot rice and papad
