Salsa Verde

Ingredients

4 tomatillos
2 green chillis
1/4 cup cilantro
1/2 cup onions (chopped)
1 small garlic clove
2 tbs oil
salt


Method

Remove husk and wash tomatillos , place on a baking tray

Roast them in a broiler for 10 to 15 min or until the outer layer is dark

In a blender add roasted tomatillos,onions,chillis,cilantro,salt ,garlic and oil Pluse 4 to 5 times for chunky salsa (if u want smooth salsa u can blend more)

Done, serve with tortilla chips

Mmmm - i love this!! And the Christmas salsa that you get in New Mexico - which is a blend of green Salsa Verde and red tomato salsa. Thanks for the recipe - have to find tomatillos in Chennai.

Sagari, All I can say is wow! Salsa verde is my hubby's fav! being from Houston he always complains that the east coast (where we live currently) lacks really good Mexican food. So I try my hardest to make Tex Mex food at home and I will definitely add this as a must try :o) Thanks for sharing chica.

Oh this looks really good! I usually just boil all the ingredients together on the stovetop and puree, then add herbs/scallions. The fire roasting must make the tomatillos really delicious!
