Ingredients
2 cups urad dal
3 green chillis
1 inch ginger
1/4 cup fresh and small coconut pieces (optional)
1/2 cup chopped onions
pinch of baking soda
salt
OIL for deep frying
Parchment paper or ziplock cover to make vadas
Method
.
Soak urad dal for 4 to 5 hours
.
Grind soaked urad dal to a thick batter along with ginger and green chillis With out adding water
.
Add salt, baking soda, coconut pieces, chopped onions Mix everything
.
Heat oil in a pan ,shape the vadas on a parchment paper or any cover, FRY on a medium heat untill golden color
.
Drain on a paper towel
.
DONE serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar
